If you’re looking for a fresh, locally sourced breakfast joint in Brisbane, you 100% cannot go past Farm House, Kedron.
Saturday morning saw me roll out of bed after a few weeks out of the country and all I wanted was a fresh, well-cooked breakfast! And, gawd was I in for a treat when Google led me straight to Farm House in Kedron!
Located on Somerset Road (#9), behind where the old Farmer Joe’s used to be (just off Gympie Road), Farm House specialises in creating gourmet (my breakfast was a 10/10) meals from locally sourced farmers and food producers.
I walked into the venue and met with a stylish abundance of greenery (I love plants, like, a lot)! The industrially styled restaurant was strung with vines, vertical gardens, herb troughs, re-claimed timber furniture (the nice stuff) and a host of fresh-faced, hard-working staff. Win!
I ordered the crispy sweet potato cake with poached eggs and a mango frappe. The sweet potato cake (although it was more like a whole roasted spud than a cake) was next level delicious. Every mouthful worked, it was balanced, the hollandaise sauce was just enough and the wilted greens and bacon were just 👌(I’m drooling again).
The mango frappe was also pretty damn good! I’m not gonna lie.
